Q: What are the faraa'idh of wudhu?

A: The faraa'idh of wudhu are as follows:

  1. Washing the entire face once.
  2. Washing the hands including the elbows once.
  3. Making masah of at least one quarter of the head.
  4. Washing the feet including the ankles.

 أركان الوضوء أربعة وهى فرائضه الأول غسل الوجه…والثاني غسل يديه مع مرفقيه والثالث غسل رجليه مع كعبيه والرابع مسح ربع رأسه (نور الايضاح ص30)

Washing the Face in Wudhu

Q: Which parts of the face should be washed in wudhu?

A: The entire face should be washed in wudhu i.e. from the forehead till beneath the chin and from one earlobe to the other.

Washing Between the Sideburns and Ears

Repeating the Masah After a Hair Cut

Q: Is it necessary for one to repeat the masah in the case where one had his hair cut after making wudhu?

A: No, it is not necessary.

(و لا يعاد الوضوء)بل ولا بل المحل(بحلق رأسه و لحيته كما لا يعاد)الغسل للمحل ولا لوضوء(بحلق شاربه و حاجبه و قلم ظفره). (الدر المختار على هامش رد المحتار ج1 ص101)

Removing Rings and Bangles When Making Wudhu

Q: Is it necessary to remove the rings and bangles when making wudhu?

A: If water reaches the area beneath the rings and bangles without removing it, it will not be necessary to remove the rings and bangles.

و في مجموع النوازل تحريك الخاتم سنة ان كان واسعا و فرض ان كان ضيقا بحيث لم يصل الماء تحته كذا في الخلاصة و هو ظاهر الرواية هكذا في المحيط (الفتاوى الهندية ج1 ص6)
