Reciting Ten Verses of the Quraan Majeed when Returning from the Marketplace

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) had taught the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) to recite ten verses of the Quraan Majeed when returning from the marketplace.

وعن ابن عباس قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: يا معشر التجار، أيعجز أحدكم إذا رجع من سوقه أن يقرأ عشر آيات فيكتب الله له بكل آية حسنة؟ (المعجم الكبير للطبراني، الرقم: 12119، وقال الهيثمي في مجمع الزوائد، الرقم: 17083: رواه الطبراني، ورجاله رجال الصحيح غير الربيع بن ثعلب، وأبي إسماعيل المؤدب، وكلاهما ثقة)

Hazrat Abdullah bin Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “O group of tradesmen! Is anyone of you unable to recite (at least) ten aayaat of the Quraan Majeed when returning from the marketplace so that Allah Ta‘ala may record for him one great virtue for each aayah that he recites?”
