Dua when entering the marketplace – 2

One should recite the following dua when entering the marketplace:

بِسْمِ اللهِ اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هٰذِهِ السُّوْقِ وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيْهَا وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيْهَا اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُصِيْبَ فِيْهَا يَمِيْنًا فَاجِرَةً أَوْ صَفْقَةً ​خَاسِرَةً

In the name of Allah. O Allah, I beg of You the good of this market and the good of what is in it; and I seek Your protection from the evil of this market and the evil of what is in it. O Allah, I seek Your protection from taking a false oath or incurring a loss while trading.

عن سليمان بن بريدة، عن أبيه رضي الله عنه، قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا دخل السوق قال: بسم الله، اللهم إني أسألك خير هذه السوق، وخير ما فيها، وأعوذ بك من شرها، وشر ما فيها، اللهم إني أعوذ بك أن أصيب فيها يمينا فاجرة، أو صفقة خاسرة (المستدرك على الصحيحين للحاكم، الرقم: 1977)

Hazrat Buraidah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that whenever Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) entered the marketplace, he would recite the following dua:

بِسْمِ اللهِ اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هٰذِهِ السُّوْقِ وَخَيْرَ مَا فِيْهَا وَأَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيْهَا اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أَعُوْذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُصِيْبَ فِيْهَا يَمِيْنًا فَاجِرَةً أَوْ صَفْقَةً ​خَاسِرَةً
