Seeing One’s Abode in Jannah Before Death

Hazrat Anas (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The one who recites durood upon me a thousand times on the day of Friday, will not pass away until he is shown his abode in Paradise.”

Benefit of Reciting One Thousand Durood on Friday

Hazrat Abu Abdir Rahmaan Al-Muqri (rahimahullah) relates that Khallaad bin Katheer (rahimahullah) was in the throes of death. Under his pillow, a piece of paper was found wherein it was written:

This is a certificate of freedom from the fire of Jahannum for Khallaad bin Katheer

The people then enquired from his wife as to the reason for him receiving this good fortune. She replied that it was his practice to recite the following Durood one thousand times every Friday:

O Allah, shower your choicest Durood on Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) the unlettered Nabi. (Al-Qowlul Badee’ Pg. 401)

Receiving Seventy Rewards

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported, “Whoever sends salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once, Allah Ta‘ala and His angels will send seventy mercies and blessings upon him in return of his one Durood. Hence, whoever wishes to increase his Durood should increase it, and whoever wishes to decrease his Durood should decrease it (i.e. if he wants to earn great rewards, then he should increase his Durood).”
