Hadhrat Ubayy (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that on one occasion Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) posed the following question to him: “Which is the greatest verse in the book of Allah Ta’ala?” Hadhrat Ubayy (Radhiyallahu Anhu) replied: “Allah Ta’ala and His messenger know best.” Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) repeated the same question few times. (After a while of reflection) Hadhrat Ubayy (Radhiyallahu Anhu) replied: “The greatest verse is Aayatul Kursi.” Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) expressed his approval in the following words: “O Abul Mundhir, May Allah Ta’ala put barkat and blessings in your knowledge. I take a qasm on that Being in whose hands lies my soul, certainly this Aayat will have a tongue and two lips (on the day of Qiyaamah) with which it will glorify Allah Ta’ala close to the Arsh.
