Hazrat Shaikh Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya (rahmatullahi ‘alaih) mentioned:
Even if there was not a single Aayat or Hadith relating to zikr, a servant should never be forgetful of his real Benefactor and Rabb whose blessings and favours on him are unlimited at all times and have no parallel. It is natural that a servant should remember his Lord, Allah Ta‘ala, make His zikr (i.e. remember Him), and always be thankful to Him.
خداوند ِ عالم کے قربان ميں کرم جس کے لاکھوں ہیں ہر آن ميں
May I be sacrificed for the sake of the Master and Lord of the worlds, whose unlimited favours rain upon me at every moment
When the Qur’aan Majeed and Mubaarak Ahaadith are replete with so many virtues and rewards encouraging the servants to make zikr, and the sayings and actions of our pious predecessors also support the great need for making zikr, then what doubt can one have in the importance of this branch of deen? Undoubtedly, engaging in zikr is a means of a servant acquiring great blessings and spiritual light.
