Reserving a place in the Masjid by placing a tasbeeh, shawl etc.

Q: If a musalli, seated in the masjid, left to perform wudhu and intends returning. Can he reserve that place until the time he returns by placing a tasbeeh, shawl etc.?

A: It is permissible for him to reserve that place through placing a tasbeeh, shawl etc.

قلت وينبغي تقييده بما إذا لم يقم عنه على نية العود بلا مهلة كما لو قام للوضوء مثلا ولا سيما إذا وضع فيه ثوبه لتحقق سبق يده تأمل (الشامية 2/662)
