Continuously Striving for Spiritual Progress

Hazrat Moulana Inaamul Hasan Kaandhelwi (rahimahullah) once mentioned the following:

When coming out in the path of Allah Ta‘ala, if one’s intention is only to reform the lives of others, then the result of this is that one will remain negligent and unconcerned about his own reformation and progress (as he feels complacent about himself). Then, even if his effort and involvement in the work increases, the reality of the matter is that his works will be devoid of any life (and noor).

The way for one to bring life (and noor) in his actions is for one to remain humble and remember at all times that he is in need (of reformation, guidance and the divine help of Allah Ta‘ala).
