Hazrat Shaikh Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya (rahmatullahi ‘alaih) mentioned:
How surprising it is that in today’s times, if any ordinary doctor mentions to someone that a certain type of food is harmful to his health, for example a non-Muslim doctor informs a patient that eating guavas is harmful to his health and it can cause running stomach, then even if he is a brave and courageous person by nature, he will accept the advice of the doctor and refrain from eating guavas.
However, when the most pure and truthful messenger of Allah, Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), who was the most compassionate and wise guide of the ummah, who throughout his life was concerned about the success and wellbeing of the ummah – when he commands the ummah to carry out beneficial and righteous deeds, and he prohibits the ummah from carrying out harmful and sinful deeds, then we do not pay any attention to his commands nor accept his advice, despite the big claims we make of being his devoted ummatis and being prepared to make all types of sacrifices for him! How unjust and unfair we are (by the attitude we have of being prepared to listen to the advice of a normal doctor, while disregarding the commands of our Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam))!
If a person, instead of leaving out the wrong and evil actions (which Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) has prohibited the ummah from) begins to regard the wrong and evil actions to be the means of his progress (and he begins to tread on the path of transgression and sin), then such a person should be prepared to wage war with Allah Ta‘ala. He should also be prepared to bear the curse of Allah Ta‘ala and His Rasul (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), as well as suffer disgrace and humiliation, and difficulties and calamities as a result of disobeying Allah Ta‘ala.
