Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) Refuses the Offer to Have the Mountains Transformed into Gold for Him

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “My Rabb offered me the choice of turning the mountains of Makkah into gold for me, but I responded saying, ‘O, Allah! I prefer to eat one day and go hungry the next day, so that when I am hungry, I will turn to You and remember You, and when I am satiated, I will be grateful to You and praise You!’”
