After performing the two rakaats of waajibut tawaaf, one should recite the following dua:
O Allah! You know what I conceal and what I reveal, so please accept my repentance, and You know my needs, so please grant me that which I am begging for, and You know that which is in my heart, so please forgive my sins! O Allah! I beg You to bestow me with such imaan that will penetrate my heart, and true conviction until I realise that only that which was destined for me will befall me, and grant me happiness with that which You have given me as my share.
Hazrat Aaishah (radhiyallahu anha) reports that Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “When Allah Ta’ala sent Nabi Aadam (alaihis salaam) down to the earth, Nabi Aadam (alaihis salaam) performed tawaaf of the Ka’bah. Nabi Aadam (alaihis salaam) then stood facing the Ka’bah and performed two rakaats of salaah. Thereafter, Allah Ta’ala inspired him to make dua in the following words:
(After Nabi Aadam (alaihis salaam) recited this dua,) Allah Ta’ala revealed wahi to him and said, “O Aadam! Indeed, I have accepted your repentance and I have forgiven your mistake. Never will any person beg from Me by reciting this dua, except that I will forgive for him his sins, and suffice him for his affairs which are causing him worry and concern, I will repel Shaitaan from him, I will cause his business to flourish more than that of other businessmen, and the dunya will come to him submissively, even if he does not want it.” (Al-Mu’jamul Awsat li Tabraani #5974, Ithaafus Saadatil Muttaqeen 4/388)
