The Way to Draw Hidaayat from the Treasures of Allah Ta‘ala

Hazrat Moulana Inaamul Hasan Kaandhelwi (rahimahullah) once mentioned the following:

Hidaayat (divine guidance) is not in the control of any person. Hidaayat lies in the sole control of Allah Ta‘ala. However, when man adopts the means of acquiring hidaayat, then Allah Ta‘ala grants him hidaayat.

In the world, Allah Ta‘ala has created a means to acquire things. When man adopts the means to acquire something, then he acquires the thing (with the will of Allah Ta‘ala). Accordingly, Allah Ta‘ala has made business the means for earning halaal wealth, farming the means for acquiring grain and produce, and nikaah the means for acquiring legitimate children. Through man adopting these means, Allah Ta‘ala grants him these outcomes.

Bestowing man with hidaayat follows the same principle. Allah Ta‘ala has made the effort of deen the means of man being granted hidaayat. To the extent that man makes effort in the world for deen to spread, to that extent Allah Ta‘ala will pass the decision of hidaayat spreading in the ummah.

In order for us to draw from the treasures of Allah Ta‘ala’s hidaayat, we need to strive in the path of Allah Ta‘ala during the days, and cry before Him in dua during the nights.

May Allah Ta‘ala make us among those blessed with hidaayat and those who are used and accepted by Allah Ta‘ala for the effort of spreading hidaayat in the ummah – ameen.
