The Collective Effort to Oppose the Forces of Baatil

Hazrat Moulana Muhammad Ilyaas (rahmatullahi ‘alaih) once mentioned the following to a certain person:

My beloved brother! Presently, the influence of kufr and misguidance is extremely strong everywhere. In such critical conditions, separate and individual efforts (though important and beneficial, they) will not be sufficient to reform the entire ummah at large. Therefore, a collective effort (e.g. tableegh) with full might and strength (i.e. spiritual strength through following the laws of shariah and the sunnah collectively and individually) is required to oppose the forces of baatil. Allah Ta‘ala says in the Qur’aan Majeed:

وَاعۡتَصِمُوۡا بِحَبۡلِ اللّٰه جَمِیۡعًا

And hold fast to the rope of Allah Ta‘ala all together… (Surah Aal-e-Imraan v. 103)
