Ihyaaud Deen An Effort to Revive Deen in Totality
1. Performing wudhu at home and walking to the musjid for salaah is a means of one’s sins being forgiven and one’s rank being elevated.
عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم من تطهر في بيته ثم مشى إلى بيت من بيوت الله ليقضي فريضة من فرائض الله كانت خطواته إحداهما تحط خطيئة والأخرى ترفع درجة (صحيح مسلم، الرقم: 666)
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Whoever makes wudhu at home and thereafter walks towards a house from the houses of Allah Ta‘ala in order to complete the obligation of Allah Ta‘ala, then for one step he takes, a sin is forgiven, and for the next step he takes, he will be elevated one rank higher.”
2. Those who come to the musjid are the guests of Allah Ta‘ala.
عن عمرو بن ميمون عن عمر رضي الله عنه قال المساجد بيوت الله في الأرض وحق على المزور أن يكرم زائره (المصنف لابن أبي شيبة، الرقم: 35758)
Hazrat Amr bin Maimoon (rahimahullah) reports that Hazrat Umar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) said, “The masaajid are the houses of Allah Ta‘ala on the earth, and the host takes responsibility to honour the one who visits Him.”
3. Those who frequent the musjid have been given the title of being from the ‘household’ of Allah Ta‘ala and His special servants.
عن أنس بن مالك رضي الله عنه قال سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول إن عمار بيوت الله هم أهل الله عز وجل (مجمع الزوائد، الرقم: 2030)[1]
Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “It is only those who frequent the masaajid who are the household (special servants) of Allah Ta‘ala.”
4. Frequenting the musjid is a means of safety for one’s imaan and Deen.
عن معاذ بن جبل رضي الله عنه أن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قال إن الشيطان ذئب الإنسان كذئب الغنم يأخذ الشاة القاصية والناحية فإياكم والشعاب وعليكم بالجماعة والعامة والمسجد (الترغيب والترهيب، الرقم: 499)[2]
Hazrat Mu’aaz bin Jabal (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Indeed Shaitaan is the wolf of man (who hunts man), just like the wolf of goats which seizes the goat that is far off and separates from the flock. Refrain from living in isolation in the valleys (or refrain from isolated opinions) and hold firmly to the Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah and remaining with the majority of the Ummah and being connected to the musjid.”
5. Frequenting the musjid is a sign of imaan.
عن أبي سعيد رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا رأيتم الرجل يعتاد المسجد فاشهدوا له بالإيمان قال الله تعالى إنما يعمر مساجد الله من آمن بالله واليوم الآخر (سنن الترمذي، الرقم: 3093)[3]
Hazrat Abu Sa’eed Khudri (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “When you see that a man regularly frequents the musjid then bear witness to his imaan. Allah Ta‘ala mentions in the Quraan, ‘The masaajid of Allah Ta‘ala are only frequented by those who have imaan in Allah Ta‘ala and the Last Day.’”
6. Those who walk to the musjid in darkness have been given the glad tidings of receiving complete noor on the Day of Qiyaamah.
عن بريدة الأسلمي عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال بشر المشائين في الظلم إلى المساجد بالنور التام يوم القيامة (سنن الترمذي، الرقم: 223)[4]
Hazrat Buraidah Aslami (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Give glad tidings to those who walk in darkness to the masaajid of them receiving complete noor on the Day of Qiyaamah.”
7. Every time a person proceeds to the musjid in the morning or evening, Allah Ta‘ala prepares his abode for him in Jannah.
عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال من غدا إلى المسجد وراح أعد الله له نزله من الجنة كلما غدا أو راح (صحيح البخاري، الرقم: 662)
Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “The one who goes to the musjid in the morning and evening, then every time he proceeds to the musjid, Allah Ta‘ala prepares for him his abode in Jannah.”

عن أبي الدرداء رضي الله عنه قال سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول المسجد بيت كل تقي وتكفل الله لمن كان المسجد بيته بالروح والرحمة والجواز على الصراط إلى رضوان الله إلى الجنة (الترغيب والترهيب، الرقم: 501)
قال الهيثمي: رواه الطبراني في الكبير والأوسط والبزار وقال إسناده حسن وهو كما قال رحمه الله تعالى
