Ihyaaud Deen An Effort to Revive Deen in Totality
It is reported from Hazrat ‘Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) was once asked, “Did you ever worship an idol?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied in the negative. He was then asked, “Did you consume wine?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) again replied in the negative and remarked, “I regarded such deeds to be kufr, even though I possessed no knowledge of the book of Allah and the details of Imaan at that stage.”
Hazrat ‘Urwah bin Zubair (rahimahullah) mentions that one of the neighbors of Hazrat Khadijah (radhiyallahu ‘anha) explained that he heard Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) declaring to Hazrat Khadijah (radhiyallahu ‘anha), “By Allah! I will never worship Laat! By Allah! I will never worship ‘Uzza! (as the mushrikeen were persuading him to worship their idols)”
