Reciting any Surah of the Qur’an before Sleeping

One should recite any Surah of the Qur’an before sleeping

عن شداد بن أوس رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم ما من مسلم يأخذ مضجعه فيقرأ سورة من كتاب الله إلا وكل الله له به ملكا فلا يقربه شيء يؤذيه حتى يهب من نومه متى هب. رواه الترمذي ورواه أحمد إلا أنه قال بعث الله له ملكا يحفظه من كل شيء يؤذيه حتى يهب متى هب ورواة أحمد رواة الصحيح (الترغيب والترهيب رقم 891)

Hadhrat Shaddaad bin Aus (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: “Any Muslim that retires to bed, and recites a surah from the Kitaab of Allah Ta’ala, Allah Ta’ala will appoint an angel over him, thus nothing harmful will come close to him until he awakens from his sleep whenever he awakens.”
