Respect for an Aged Muslim, a Haafiz and a Just Ruler

Hadhrat Abu Musa (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Indeed it is part of showing respect to Allah Ta’ala that one respects an aged Muslim; and a Haafiz of the Qur’an,  such a Haafiz who adheres to the Qur’an and does not commit excesses in it (i.e. he does not recite incorrectly nor for show and he adheres to the teaching of the Qur’an), nor does he turn away from it (by neglecting its recitation and not practicing upon it), and (it is part of showing respect to Allah Ta’ala) that one shows respect to a just ruler.”

Receiving Seventy Rewards

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported, “Whoever sends salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once, Allah Ta‘ala and His angels will send seventy mercies and blessings upon him in return of his one Durood. Hence, whoever wishes to increase his Durood should increase it, and whoever wishes to decrease his Durood should decrease it (i.e. if he wants to earn great rewards, then he should increase his Durood).”
