Hadhrat Jaabir (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever recites durood one hundred times upon me daily, Allah Ta’ala will fulfil one hundred of his needs, seventy of the hereafter and thirty of this world.

The Five Durood of Imaam Shaafi’ee (Rahmatullahi Alaihi)

It is mentioned that after the demise of Imaam Shaafi’ee (Rahmatullahi Alaihi), someone had seen him in a dream and asked him the reason for being pardoned by Allah Ta’ala. Imaam Shaafi’ee (Rahmatullahi Alaihi) replied: “It is because of these five durood upon Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) that I used to recite every Friday night (i.e. the night preceding Friday)

O Allah, shower your choicest mercy and blessings on the master of the worlds, Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) according to the number of people who recited durood upon Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). And shower your choicest mercy and blessings on the master of the worlds, Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) according to the number of people who did not recite durood upon Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). And shower your choicest mercy and blessings on the master of the worlds, Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) in the manner that You have commanded that durood be recited upon him. And shower your choicest mercy and blessings on the master of the worlds, Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) in the most befitting manner which pleases You. And shower your choicest mercy and blessings on the master of the worlds, Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) in the manner he should be remembered and durood be recited upon him.

The Danger of Shi’ism

The Distinguishing Characteristic of Islam

The distinguishing characteristic of Islam compared to all other religions of the past is the aspect of authenticity and reliability. Every detail of Islam has been accurately and precisely preserved from the very inception of wahi (revelation) up to this day.

Fourteen centuries have gone by, yet the Holy Qur’an has remained to this day in its original form without the slightest change. Let alone a verse of the Qur’an, not even a single letter has been distorted or changed. Its preservation is not limited to the scrolls and pages; instead it is preserved in the recesses of the hearts of even little children of this ummah. Similarly the Mubaarak Ahaadith of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) – which in reality is the commentary of the Qur’an Shareef – have been preserved with sound authentic chains joining up to Hazrat Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam).

How can it not be so, when Allah Ta’ala himself had taken the divine onus and responsibility of protecting and preserving the Shari’ah of Islam till the end of time? Allah Ta’ala states:

إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا الذِّكْرَ وَإِنَّا لَهُ لَحَافِظُونَ ﴿الحجر: ٩﴾

“Indeed, We are the Ones who have sent down the Zikr (the Qur’aan), and We will surely protect it.” (Surah Al-Hijr, Aayah 9)

Main causes for the Misguidance of Jews and Christians

Among the many reasons for the deviation of the Jews and the Christians, the main two reasons which the Quran highlights are as follows:

Firstly, they distorted and interpolated their books and divine scriptures (the Tawraah and Injeel) to such an extent that not even a single narration remains that is authentically linked to their Ambiya’ , Hazrat Musa (Alayhis Salaam) and Hazrat Isa (Alayhis Salaam).

Secondly, they adopted the path of extremism in their Deen. In the case of the Jews, they disrespected their Ambiya and pious and bore hatred against them, to such an extent that they hurled abuse and physically tormented them, and even went to the point of killing them. In the case of the Christians, they praised and extolled Nabi Isa (Alayhis Salaam) beyond limits, till finally they elevated him to the position of a deity.  Hence we gauge that the misguidance of these two deviant sects revolved around distortion (of their divine religion) and extremism (the elements of extreme love and excessive hatred).

Shi’ism under the Microscope

An in-depth study of Shi’ism will bring one to the realisation that it is nothing but a combination of Judaism and Christianity in various respects.

Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Recite durood upon me, for certainly it is a form of purification for you. And ask Allah Ta’ala to grant me the position of “Waseela”, which is a rank in the highest stages of Paradise which is reserved for only one person, and I hope that I am blessed with this honour and position.

Face being Transformed to a Swine

In Nuzhatul majaalis, the following incident is recorded: “A man and his son were on a journey. On the way, the father passed away and his face was transformed to that of a swine. The son, seeing this, cried bitterly and made duaa to Allah Ta’ala for the welfare of his father. Soon the son fell asleep and saw a man telling him, “Your father used to consume interest, for this reason you now see his face in this condition. But rejoice for Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) has interceded on his behalf, for whenever he heard the blessed name of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), he recited durood upon him. Through the intercession of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam), his face has now been changed to its original form.” (Fazaail Durood)

Reciting one thousand Durood daily

Abul Hasan Baghdaadi Ad-Daarimi (Rahmatullahi Alaihi) says that he had often seen Abu Abdillah Haamid (Rahmatullahi Alaihi) in a dream after his death. I asked him what had transpired with him and he said: “Allah Ta’ala forgave me and had mercy on me.” I then asked him: “Please inform me of one such deed, which shall admit me directly into Paradise.” He replied, “Perform one thousand nafl rakaats and in each rakaat recite one thousand times Surah Ikhlaas.” Abul Hasan said: “But this is indeed an extremely difficult deed to fulfil.” He replied: “In that case, recite durood upon Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) one thousand times every night.” Abul Hasan further says that this has been my routine since then. (Fazaail Durood)

The Mahr of Hadhrat Aadam (Alaihis Salaam)

Shaikh Abdul Haq Dehlawi (Rahmatullahi Alaihi) writes in “Madaarijun Nubuwah” that when Hadhrat Hawa (Radhiyallahu Anha) was created, Hadhrat Aadam (Alaihis Salaam) wanted to stretch forth his hands towards her. The angels then said, “Be patient until such time that the nikah is performed and you give her the mahr. Hadhrat Aadam (Alaihis Salaam) then inquired, “What is the mahr?” The angels replied, “The recitation of Durood upon Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). (According to another report, the mahr was twenty durood upon Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). (Fazaail Durood)
