The Love of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) for Hazrat Muaaz bin Jabal (radhiyallahu ‘anhu)

Hazrat Muaaz bin Jabal (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that on one occasion, Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) held my hand and said to me, “O Muaaz!”, to which I replied, “I am present at your service.”

Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) then said to me, “Indeed, I love you (for the sake of Allah Ta’ala).” Hazrat Muaaz bin Jabal (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) replied, “By the qasm of Allah, I also love you.”

Rasulullah (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) then said to him, “Should I teach you a dua to recite after every salaah.”

Hazrat Muaaz (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) said, “Yes, (please do teach me O Rasul of Allah)”.

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said to him, “O Muaaz! I advice you to never leave out reciting this dua after every (fardh) salaah:

اللهم أعني على ذكرك، وشكرك، وحسن عبادتك

O Allah! I ask you to assist me to remember You, to be grateful to You and to worship You in a good manner
