Ihyaaud Deen An Effort to Revive Deen in Totality
At the Time of Azaan and when the Two Armies Meet in Battle
عن سهل بن سعد قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: ثنتان لا تردان أو قلما تردان الدعاء عند النداء وعند البأس حين يلحم بعضهم بعضا (سنن أبي داود، الرقم: ٢٥٤٠، وسكت عنه هو والمنذري في مختصره)
Hazrat Sahl bin Sa’d (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “There are two times when duas are not rejected or very seldom will duas made at these two times not be accepted; at the time of the azaan and when the both armies meet in battle.”
Between the Azaan and Iqaamah
عن أنس بن مالك قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: لا يرد الدعاء بين الأذان والإقامة (سنن أبي داود، الرقم: ٥٢١، سنن الترمذي، الرقم: ٢١٢، وقال: حديث أنس حديث حسن)
Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “The dua made between the azaan and iqaamah is not rejected.”
The Middle of the Night
عن عثمان بن أبي العاص الثقفي عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال: تفتح أبواب السماء نصف الليل فينادي مناد: هل من داع فيستجاب له هل من سائل فيعطى هل من مكروب فيفرج عنه فلا يبقى مسلم يدعو بدعوة إلا استجاب الله له إلا زانية تسعى بفرجها أو عشار (المعجم الكبير للطبراني، الرقم: ٨٣٩١)[1]
Hazrat Uthmaan bin Abil Aas Thaqafi (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “The doors of the sky are opened when half the night passes. An angel then calls out, ‘Is there anyone making dua so that his dua can be accepted? Is there anyone asking for anything so that his request may be granted? Is there any person in difficulty so that his hardship may be alleviated?’ Thereafter, there is no Muslim who makes dua to Allah Ta‘ala accept that Allah Ta‘ala answers his dua, except for a prostitute or a person who usurps the wealth of people by force.”
Dua after the Fardh Salaah and at the Time of Tahajjud
عن أبي أمامة قال: قيل يا رسول الله: أي الدعاء أسمع قال: جوف الليل الآخر ودبر الصلوات المكتوبات (سنن الترمذي، الرقم: ٣٤٩٩، وقال هذا حديث حسن)
Hazrat Abu Umaamah (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that on one occasion, Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) was asked, “Which dua is most heard (and readily accepted)?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, “The dua made in the last portion of the night and after the fardh salaah.”
Dua Between Azaan and Iqaamah
عن أنس بن مالك، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: الدعاء لا يرد بين الأذان والإقامة (سنن الترمذي، الرقم: ٢١٢، وقال: حديث أنس حديث حسن صحيح)
Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “The dua made between azaan and iqaamah is not rejected.”
