Sunnats and Aadaab of Speech – Part 13

1. If Allah Ta‘ala has blessed you with good qualities, then do not boast about them before people and do not look down at others who do not possess such good qualities. Rather, you should praise Allah Ta‘ala for the good you have and make dua to Allah Ta‘ala to bless others with good.

And do not turn your cheek away from people, and do not walk on the earth with pride. Surely Allah does not like every arrogant, proud person.

Hazrat Iyaadh bin Himaar (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Allah Ta‘ala revealed revelation upon me that (inform your ummah that) you all should adopt humility (in your conduct), until no person among you should boast before another and no person among you should oppress another.”
