Holding firm to Qur’an and Sunnah

Hadhrat ibn Abbaas (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) addressed the people on the occasion of Hajjatul Wadaa and said: “Indeed Shaytaan has lost hope of being worshipped in your land, however he is happy that he will be obeyed in matters besides that, in those actions which you regard as trivial, therefore remain alert (of not being misguided by Shaytaan). Certainly I have left amongst you such things, which if you hold firmly onto it you will never go astray;  the kitaab of Allah Ta’ala and the sunnah of his messenger.”

Receiving Seventy Rewards

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported, “Whoever sends salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once, Allah Ta‘ala and His angels will send seventy mercies and blessings upon him in return of his one Durood. Hence, whoever wishes to increase his Durood should increase it, and whoever wishes to decrease his Durood should decrease it (i.e. if he wants to earn great rewards, then he should increase his Durood).”
