The Successful Person

Hadhrat Abu Zar (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Successful is the one whose heart is filled solely with Imaan, and he keeps his heart clean (from all types of sins relating to the heart e.g. malice, jealousy, hatred, evil thoughts etc.) and he keeps his tongue truthful (in his speech, promises, commitments etc) and his soul is at every moment pleased (with Allah Ta’ala and always remembering Him) and his disposition and nature remains completely balanced (in all situations i.e. not inclined towards either extreme exceeding the bounds of Shariah nor falling short in fulfilling the commands of Shariah), and he keeps his ears attentive (towards the truth) and his eyes focused (towards the truth). As far as the ear is concerned, it is a funnel through which things are filtered through, and the heart takes in what the eyes see. Indeed the one who has made his heart the protector of all good is successful.

Receiving Seventy Rewards

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported, “Whoever sends salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once, Allah Ta‘ala and His angels will send seventy mercies and blessings upon him in return of his one Durood. Hence, whoever wishes to increase his Durood should increase it, and whoever wishes to decrease his Durood should decrease it (i.e. if he wants to earn great rewards, then he should increase his Durood).”
