Three Special Qualities of a Believer

وعن أبي سعيد الخدري رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه و سلم أنه قال في حجة الوداع نضر الله امرأ سمع مقالتي فوعاها فرب حامل فقه ليس بفقيه ثلاث لا يغل عليهن قلب امرىء مؤمن إخلاص العمل لله والمناصحة لائمة المسلمين ولزوم جماعتهم فإن دعاءهم محيط من ورائهم رواه البزار بإسناد حسن ورواه ابن حبان في صحيحه من حديث زيد بن ثابت  (الترغيب و الترهيب 1/59)

Hadhrat Abu Sa’eed Khudri (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that on the occasion of Hajjatul Wadaa’ Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said: “May Allah Ta’ala create freshness and noor on the countenance of the one who hears my mubaarak words, then he commits it to memory. There is many a person who carries the knowledge of fiqh (within his bosom through memorizing many Ahaadith of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), such Ahaadith which carry within itself oceans of knowledge and understanding) though he himself is not a faqeeh (due to not understanding the in depth meanings of the words of Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam). The heart of a believer possessing these three qualities can never be overpowered by malice or enmity for the believers. Doing all actions with complete sincerity (i.e. solely for the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala in accordance to the prescribed manner), showing obedience to the leaders of Islam and fulfilling their rights and remaining steadfast and upholding Deen with the Muslim Ummah, such people’s Duaas encompass the entire Ummah.
