The Best of Earnings

عن المقدام بن معدي كرب رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : مَا أَكَل أَحَدٌ طَعَامَا قَطُّ خَيرًا مِن أَن يَأكُلَ مِن عَمَلِ يَدَيهِ وَإِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ دَاوُدَ عَليهِ السَّلام كَانَ يَأكُلُ مِن عَمَلِ يَدَيه. (البخاري رقم 2072)

Hazrat Miqdaam (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “There is no sustenance better for one to consume than the sustenance earned through one’s own hands (i.e. one’s halaal service). Indeed the messenger of Allah Ta’ala, Hazrat Dawood (Alaihis Salaam) would consume from the earnings of his own hands.”
