Taking Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq as a Bosom Friend

عن عبد الله بن مسعود رضي الله عنه يحدث عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أنه قال لو كنت متخذا خليلا لاتخذت أبا بكر خليلا ولكنه أخي وصاحبي وقد اتخذ الله عز وجل صاحبكم خليلا (مسلم 2/273)

Hadhrat Abdullah ibn Mas’ood (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: If I was allowed to take a bosom friend whose love reaches the recesses of the heart, then I would have definitely taken Hadhrat Abu Bakr Siddeeq (Radhiallahu Anhu) as a bosom friend. However he is my brother in Islam and my close companion. Allah Ta’ala has (blessed me and honoured me) to be His friend.
