Dua when looking in the mirror – 2

One should recite the following dua when looking at one’s face in the mirror

الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِي حَسَّنَ خَلْقِي وَخُلُقِي، وَزَانَ مِنِّي مَا شَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِي

All praise is due to Allah Ta‘ala, Who beautified my physical appearance and my character, and He blessed me with (inner and outer) beauty which he did not bless others with.

عن ابن عباس، رضي الله عنهما قال: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا نظر في المرآة قال: الحمد لله الذي حسن خلقي وخلقي، وزان مني ما شان من غيري (عمل اليوم والليلة لابن السني، الرقم: 164)

Hazrat ibnu Abbaas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) would recite the following dua when he would look (at his mubaarak face) in the mirror:

الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِي حَسَّنَ خَلْقِي وَخُلُقِي، وَزَانَ مِنِّي مَا شَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِي
