The people of the Qur’aan Majeed- The special servants of Allah Ta‘ala

وعن أنس رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إن لله أهلين من الناس قالوا من هم يا رسول الله قال أهل القرآن هم أهل الله وخاصته رواه النسائي وابن ماجه والحاكم كلهم عن ابن مهدي حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن بديل عن أبيه عن أنس وقال الحاكم يروى من ثلاثة أوجه عن أنس هذا أجودها قال المملي الحافظ عبد العظيم وهو إسناد صحيح (الترغيب والترهيب، الرقم: 2209)

Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Indeed from the people, Allah Ta‘ala has (certain special servants who are) his household.” The Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum) asked, “Who are those people, O Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)?” Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) replied, “They are the people of the Qur’aan Majeed. They are of the household of Allah Ta‘ala and are His special servants.”

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported, “Whoever sends salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once, Allah Ta‘ala and His angels will send seventy mercies and blessings upon him in return of his one Durood. Hence, whoever wishes to increase his Durood should increase it, and whoever wishes to decrease his Durood should decrease it (i.e. if he wants to earn great rewards, then he should increase his Durood).”
