The Reward of Sadaqah through Reciting Durood

Hazrat Abu Sa’eed Khudri (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasululah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) said, “Whichever Muslim does not have anything to give in sadaqah, he should recite the following Durood in his dua as it will be a means of him receiving the reward of sadaqah and it will purify him of his sins.”

O Allah Ta‘ala! Send Durood (i.e. shower Your mercy) upon Muhammad (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam), Your slave and Rasul, and shower Your mercy upon all the mu’mineen and muslimeen, males and females.

Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) thereafter said, “A believer continues to do good and is never fully satisfied with the good that he carries out until he finally (passes away on imaan and) reaches Jannah.”

Receiving Seventy Rewards

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported, “Whoever sends salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once, Allah Ta‘ala and His angels will send seventy mercies and blessings upon him in return of his one Durood. Hence, whoever wishes to increase his Durood should increase it, and whoever wishes to decrease his Durood should decrease it (i.e. if he wants to earn great rewards, then he should increase his Durood).”
