Assistance at the Bridge over Jahannum

Abdullah bin Samurah (Radhiallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) once emerged from his home and said, “Last night I had seen a very strange vision. A man was crossing the siraat (the bridge over Jahannam) and had such difficulty in crossing that at times he dragged himself along, at times he was crawling on his knees, and at times he was being obstructed by something. Suddenly the durood that he had recited upon me had reached him, and this assisted him in standing up and crossing the bridge. (Fazaail Durood)
