Reciting Dua-e-Qunoot in Witr salaah

Duaa One

One should recite Dua-e-Qunoot in the third rakaat of witr. The Dua-e-Qunoot is as follows:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْتَعِينُكَ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُكَ ، وَنُثْنِي عَلَيْكَ الْخَيْرَ ، وَلاَ نَكْفُرُكَ ، وَنَخْلَعُ وَنَتْرُكُ مَنْ يَفْجُرُكَ ، اللَّهُمَّ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ ، وَلَكَ نُصَلِّي وَنَسْجُدُ ، وَإِلَيْكَ نَسْعَى وَنَحْفِدُ ، نَرْجُو رَحْمَتَكَ وَنَخْشَى عَذَابَكَ ، إِنَّ عَذَابَكَ الْجِدَّ بِالْكُفَّارِ مُلْحِقٌ

O Allah! We seek Your help and we seek Your forgiveness and we praise You in the best manner. We are not ungrateful to You. We leave and disassociate ourselves from those who disobey You. O Allah! You alone do We worship and it is only for You do we pray and prostrate, and only towards You do we hasten and rush towards, we hope for Your mercy and fear Your punishment. Verily, Your severe punishment overtakes the unbelievers.

عن أبي عبد الرحمن ، قال : علمنا ابن مسعود أن نقرأ في القنوت : اللهم إنا نستعينك ونستغفرك ، ونثني عليك الخير ، ولا نكفرك ، ونخلع ونترك من يفجرك ، اللهم إياك نعبد ، ولك نصلي ونسجد ، وإليك نسعى ونحفد ، نرجو رحمتك ونخشى عذابك ، إن عذابك الجد بالكفار ملحق. (مصنف ابن ابي شيبة رقم 6965)

Abu Abdir Rahmaan (Rahimahullah) relates that Hadhrat Abdullah bin Mas’ood (Radhiyallahu Anhu) taught us to recite the following duaa in the Qunoot of witr:

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْتَعِينُكَ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُكَ ، وَنُثْنِي عَلَيْكَ الْخَيْرَ ، وَلاَ نَكْفُرُكَ ، وَنَخْلَعُ وَنَتْرُكُ مَنْ يَفْجُرُكَ ، اللَّهُمَّ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ ، وَلَكَ نُصَلِّي وَنَسْجُدُ ، وَإِلَيْكَ نَسْعَى وَنَحْفِدُ ، نَرْجُو رَحْمَتَكَ وَنَخْشَى عَذَابَكَ ، إِنَّ عَذَابَكَ الْجِدَّ بِالْكُفَّارِ مُلْحِقٌ

Duaa Two

The following Duaa is also reported in the Hadith as a Duaa to be recited in the Qunoot of witr:

اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِى فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ وَعَافِنِى فِيمَنْ عَافَيْتَ وَتَوَلَّنِى فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ وَبَارِكْ لِى فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَقِنِى شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ إِنَّكَ تَقْضِى وَلاَ يُقْضَى عَلَيْكَ وَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَذِلُّ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ وَلاَ يَعِزُّ مَنْ عَادَيْتَ تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ وَصَلَّى اللهُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ

O Allah, guide me along with those whom you have guided, grant me ease along with those whom you have granted ease, protect and take charge of my affairs along with those whom You have protected and taken charge of their affairs, grant me barakah (blessings) in all that You have granted me, save me from the harm of that which You have decreed. Verily You decide and none can decide against You. Whoever is under Your protection, cannot be disgraced, and those whom You oppose and are against  can never gain dignity and respect. Our Rabb, You are full of blessings and Most High. And may the blessings of Allah Ta’ala be showered upon Nabi (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam)

عن أبى الحوراء قال قال الحسن بن على رضى الله عنهما علمنى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم كلمات أقولهن فى الوتر قال ابن جواس فى قنوت الوتر  اللهم اهدنى فيمن هديت وعافنى فيمن عافيت وتولنى فيمن توليت وبارك لى فيما أعطيت وقنى شر ما قضيت إنك تقضى ولا يقضى عليك وإنه لا يذل من واليت ولا يعز من عاديت تباركت ربنا وتعاليت. (ابو داود رقم 1427) وزاد النسائي بعد وتعاليت وصلى الله على النبي (النسائي رقم 1748)

Abul Hawraa (Rahimahullah) reports that Hadhrat Hasan bin Ali (Radhiyallahu Anhuma) said: “Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) taught me to recite the following duaa in the Qunoot of witr:
