Hadhrat Abu Hurayrah (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “From among the rewards of good deeds that reach a believer after his demise is: (1) the knowledge of Deen which he had imparted and spread during his life (2) or a pious child he had left behind, (3) or a Qur’an he had left behind in inheritance (4) or a Musjid that he had built (5) or a resting place for the traveller that he had built (6) or a canal that he had dug (7) or sadaqah that he had given from his wealth during his life while being in good health. The rewards of these good deeds will continue to reach a believer after his demise.”
