Proceeding to Acquire the Knowledge of Deen

Hazrat Abu Zar (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “O Abu Zar, that you proceed in the morning and learn one Aayat of the Qur’an Majeed is better for you than performing one hundred rakaats of nafl salaah, and that you proceed in the morning and learn one chapter of the knowledge of Deen, whether it relates to amal or not (whether the ilm relates to acts of worship or does not relate to acts of worship but beliefs [e.g. aqaaid]), is better for you than performing one thousand rakaats of nafl salaah.”

Receiving Seventy Rewards

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported, “Whoever sends salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once, Allah Ta‘ala and His angels will send seventy mercies and blessings upon him in return of his one Durood. Hence, whoever wishes to increase his Durood should increase it, and whoever wishes to decrease his Durood should decrease it (i.e. if he wants to earn great rewards, then he should increase his Durood).”
