Three Destructive Actions

عن أنس رضي الله عنه عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم قال وأما المهلكات فشح مطاع وهوى متبع وإعجاب المرء بنفسه. رواه البزار والبيهقي وغيرهما (الترغيب والترهيب 1/107)

Hadhrat Anas (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “As for those destructive actions (that bring about ruin to the Imaan and good deeds of a person): The severe greed (for worldly possessions) within a person which is obeyed, base desires that are followed, and a person being pleased with his own opinion.”
