Hadhrat Jaabir (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that whenever Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) used to deliver a khutbah, then his eyes would become red, the tone of his voice would raise and he would become angry (due to his great concern and worry his facial appearance would look like a person who was angry), as though he was warning an army against the enemy attacking them in the morning and evening. He would say, “Myself and Qiyaamah have been sent very close to each other, the closeness of these two fingers, and he then would join his two fingers; the index finger and the middle finger.” And he would say, “The best speech is the kitaab of Allah Ta’ala, and the best way is the way of Hadhrat Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam). The worst actions are those which are innovated in Deen, and every bid’ah (innovation) is misguidance.” Thereafter he would say, “I am closer to every believer than his own self. Who leaves behind wealth, then it will be for his family (heirs). And the one who leaves behind debts or young offspring, then I take it as my responsibility to settle his debts and take care of his offspring.”
