Being Favoured by Allah Ta’ala at the Time of Death

baqee2When the hour of death drew near for Ibne Idrees (Rahmatullahi Alaih), his daughter began to weep. He said, “Do not cry my child, I have completed four thousand khatams of the Holy Qur'an in this house.”

Hasan Ibne Hayye (Rahmatullahi Alaih) says, “I was with my brother, Ali (Rahmatullahi Alaih) on the night when his soul departed from this world. Once, during the night, he called for water while I was observing Salaah. When I had finished, I brought him a cup of water but he told me that he had already taken water. I asked in surprise, “Who brought you the water? There is no one in the house, except you and me.” He replied: “Jibraa’eel (Alayhis Salaam) brought me some water which I drank just before you came, and he said to me, ‘You and your brother are with those unto whom Allah Ta'ala  has showered His favour.’ (The reference is to the following Ayat from the Holy Qur'an:

وَمَن يُطِعِ اللَّـهَ وَالرَّسولَ فَأُولـٰئِكَ مَعَ الَّذينَ أَنعَمَ اللَّـهُ عَلَيهِم مِنَ النَّبِيّينَ وَالصِّدّيقينَ وَالشُّهَداءِ وَالصّالِحينَ

Whoever obeys Allah and His messenger, they are with those unto whom Allah has showered His favour, amongst the Ambiya (Messengers of Allah), the Siddiqeen, the Shuhadaa (martyrs) and the righteous. (Nisaa verse 69)      (Fazaail Sadaqaat-Urdu pg.665)
