Hold Firmly to the Qur’an

Hadhrat Abu Shurayh Al-Khuzaa’ee (Radiyallahu Anhu) reports that on one occasion Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) came out and addressed the Sahaabah saying: “Do you not testify that there is none worthy of worship besides Allah Ta’ala and that I am the messenger of Allah Ta’ala?” The Sahaabah replied, “Most certainly we do testify.” Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Indeed this Qur’an is such that its one end is in the hand of Allah Ta’ala, and the other end is in your hands. Therefore firmly hold onto it, for certainly (as long as you firmly hold onto it) you will not go astray and will never be destroyed thereafter.”

Receiving Seventy Rewards

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported, “Whoever sends salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once, Allah Ta‘ala and His angels will send seventy mercies and blessings upon him in return of his one Durood. Hence, whoever wishes to increase his Durood should increase it, and whoever wishes to decrease his Durood should decrease it (i.e. if he wants to earn great rewards, then he should increase his Durood).”
