Ihyaaud Deen An Effort to Revive Deen in Totality
In response to a certain person’s question, Hazrat Moulana Ashraf Ali Thaanwi (rahimahullah) mentioned the following:
In this path of tasawwuf (self-reformation), there is only one way to acquire success, and that is for one to bring the true love of Allah Ta‘ala in his heart.
This is the very foundation and basis of the entire path of tasawwuf. Without one possessing the true love of Allah Ta‘ala in his heart, it will be difficult for him to acquire success in this path.
Now, the question which remains is “What is the way for one to acquire the true love of Allah Ta‘ala?”
The way for one to acquire the true love of Allah Ta‘ala is for one to remain in the company of the lovers of Allah Ta‘ala (i.e. the righteous servants of Allah Ta‘ala whom Allah Ta’ala had blessed with His special love).
Through remaining in their company, and through the blessing of their pious association, one will be blessed with the true love of Allah Ta‘ala.
Acquiring the love of Allah Ta‘ala in one’s heart is not dependent on the attention of any Sheikh, nor is it dependent upon any ta’weez.
Rather, it is only based upon one having the true desire and longing in his heart to acquire the true love of Allah Ta‘ala.
Now, whichever person was blessed with this true love of Allah Ta‘ala, he acquired it after fulfilling the condition of having this true desire and longing in his heart to acquire the true love of Allah Ta‘ala.
