Ihyaaud Deen An Effort to Revive Deen in Totality
Hazrat Shaikh Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya (rahmatullahi ‘alaih) mentioned:
Adopting the kuffaar style of clothing, men shaving their beards or trimming it (less than a fist-length), women emulating men in their clothing and shoes, men and women not observing purdah among themselves, etc. – all these wrongs have spread in the world like how a plague and epidemic spreads among people.
Whichever person you look at, you find that he is involved in these wrongs, with the exception of a few individuals. It is as though those who do not grow their beards (to the sunnah length) feel that keeping a beard is not from among the Sha’aair (salient features) of Islam and is not part of the blessed sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam).
Rather, they feel uncomfortable to adopt the Islamic way in their dressing and appearance. Through one continuing in this way (by not adhering to the laws of Islam and the sunnah of Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)), it will be impossible for him to acquire the love of Allah Ta‘ala.
