Dua when looking in the mirror – 1

One should recite the following dua when looking at one’s face in the mirror:

الْحَمْدُ لِله، اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا حَسَّنْتَ خَلْقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي

All praise is due to Allah Ta‘ala, O Allah, just as you have beautified my physical appearance, do beautify my character.

عن علي بن أبي طالب، رضي الله عنه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كان إذا نظر وجهه في المرآة قال: الحمد لله، اللهم كما حسنت خلقي فحسن خلقي (عمل اليوم والليلة لابن السني، الرقم: 163)

Hazrat Ali (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) would recite the following dua when he would look at his (mubaarak) face in the mirror:

الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ، اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا حَسَّنْتَ خَلْقِي فَحَسِّنْ خُلُقِي
