Dua when seeing a cloud approaching regarding which one fears that it could be a cloud of punishment

When seeing a cloud approaching regarding which one fears that it could be a cloud of punishment, one should recite the following dua:

O Allah! We seek Your protection from the evil that it was sent with.

Hazrat Aaishah (radhiyallahu ‘anha) reports that when Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) would see a cloud approaching from the horizon (regarding which he feared that it could be a cloud of punishment), he would leave whatever he was engaged in, even if (it was a time when generally) he would perform (nafl) salaah, he would then face in the direction of the cloud and recite the following dua (begging Allah Ta‘ala for His mercy):

O Allah! We seek Your protection from the evil that it was sent with.

Hazrat Aaishah (radhiyallahu ‘anha) says, if it then rained, he (Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)) would recite the following dua twice or thrice (begging Allah Ta‘ala for beneficial rain):

O Allah, bless us with beneficial rain

And if Allah Ta‘ala removed the cloud and it did not rain, he (Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam)) would praise Allah Ta‘ala upon that.
