Duaas before when entering a town

Duaa One:

اللهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَمَا أَظْلَلْنَ وَرَبَّ الْأَرْضِينَ السَّبْعِ وَمَا أَقْلَلْنَ وَرَبَّ الشَّيَاطِينِ وَمَا أَضْلَلْنَ وَرَبَّ الرِّيَاحِ ومَا ذَرَيْنَ، فَإِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ وَخَيْرَ أَهْلِهَا وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ أَهْلِهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا

O Allah, the Rabb of the seven skies and whatever they cover, the Rabb of the seven earths and whatever they carry, the Rabb of the Shayaateen and whoever they mislead, the Rabb of the winds and whatever it scatters, indeed we ask You to bless us with the good of this village and the good of its people, and we seek refuge in You from its evil, the evil of its people and the evil contained within it.

عن عطاء بن أبي مروان، عن أبيه، أن كعبا، حدثه أن صهيبا صاحب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم حدثه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لم ير قرية يريد دخولها إلا قال حين يراها: اللهم رب السموات السبع، وما أظللن ورب الأرضين السبع، وما أقللن ورب الشياطين، وما أضللن ورب الرياح، وما ذرين، فإنا نسألك خير هذه القرية وخير أهلها ونعوذ بك من شرها وشر أهلها وشر ما فيها (السنن الكبرى للنسائي رقم 8776)

It is reported from Hazrat Suhaib (radhiyallahu ‘anhu) that whenever Rasulullah’s (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) sight had fallen on a village or town which he intended to enter, he would recite the following du‘aa:

اللهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَوَاتِ السَّبْعِ، وَمَا أَظْلَلْنَ وَرَبَّ الْأَرْضِينَ السَّبْعِ، وَمَا أَقْلَلْنَ وَرَبَّ الشَّيَاطِينِ، وَمَا أَضْلَلْنَ وَرَبَّ الرِّيَاحِ، ومَا ذَرَيْنَ، فَإِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذِهِ الْقَرْيَةِ وَخَيْرَ أَهْلِهَا وَنَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ أَهْلِهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا

Duaa Two:

One should recite the following duaa thrice:

اَللَّهُمّ بَارك لنَا فِيهَا

O Allah, grant us barakah in this place

Thereafter, one should recite the following duaa:

اَللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقنَا جَنَاهَا وَحَبِّبنَا إِلَى أَهلِهَا وَحَبِّبْ صَالِحِى اَهلِهَا إِلَينَا

 O Allah, give us of its fruits and produce and make us beloved to its people and make the pious of its people beloved to us.

عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنهما قال كنا نسافر مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم فإذا رأى القرية يريد ان يدخلها قال اللهم بارك لنا فيها ثلاث مرات اللهم ارزقنا جناها وحببنا إلى أهلها وحبب صالحى اهلها إلينا (المعجم الأوسط للطبراني رقم 4755)

Hazrat ibn Umar (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports: “We (the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu ‘anhum)) would travel with Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam). When Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) saw a village or town which he intended entering, he would recite the following duaa.”

اَللَّهُمّ بَارك لنَا فِيهَا اَللَّهُمّ بَارك لنَا فِيهَا اَللَّهُمّ بَارك لنَا فِيهَا اَللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقنَا جَنَاهَا وَحَبِّبنَا إِلَى أَهلِهَا وَحَبِّبْ صَالِحِى اَهلِهَا إِلَينَا
