عن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم من سئل عن علم فكتمه ألجم يوم القيامة بلجام من نار رواه أبو داود والترمذي وحسنه وابن ماجه وابن حبان في صحيحه والبيهقي ورواه الحاكم بنحوه وقال صحيح على شرط الشيخين ولم يخرجاه وفي رواية لابن ماجه قال ما من رجل يحفظ علما فيكتمه إلا أتى يوم القيامة ملجوما بلجام من نار (الترغيب والترهيب 1/163)

Hazrat Abu Hurayrah (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “Whoever is questioned regarding the knowledge of Deen and he conceals it, he will be bridled with a bridle of fire on the day of Qiyaamah.”

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported, “Whoever sends salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once, Allah Ta‘ala and His angels will send seventy mercies and blessings upon him in return of his one Durood. Hence, whoever wishes to increase his Durood should increase it, and whoever wishes to decrease his Durood should decrease it (i.e. if he wants to earn great rewards, then he should increase his Durood).”
