Showing Others how to Acquire Good

Hazrat Abdullah bin Mas’ood (Radhiyallahu Anhu) reports that on one occasion a person came to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) and asked for something. Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) replied: “I do not have anything to give you, however go to so and so person (and ask him to fulfil your need).” The man then went to the person he was sent to and that person fulfilled his need. (Later on when Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) was informed of the man’s need being fulfilled), Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) said: “The one who shows a person the way to acquire good, he will receive the reward (of the good) just as the one who carries out the good receives reward.”

Receiving Seventy Rewards

Hazrat Abdullah bin Amr bin Aas (radhiyallahu ‘anhuma) reported, “Whoever sends salutations upon Nabi (sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam) once, Allah Ta‘ala and His angels will send seventy mercies and blessings upon him in return of his one Durood. Hence, whoever wishes to increase his Durood should increase it, and whoever wishes to decrease his Durood should decrease it (i.e. if he wants to earn great rewards, then he should increase his Durood).”
