However, we need to understand what \u2018hubb-ud-dunya\u2019 is.<\/p>\n<p>Hazrat Ebrahim (\u2018alaihis salaam) had made this du\u2018aa:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"RTL\" style=\"font-family: 'traditional arabic'; font-size: 16pt; text-align: center;\">\u0631\u064e\u0628\u0651\u0650 \u0627\u062c\u0652\u0639\u064e\u0644\u0652 \u0647\u0630\u064e\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0628\u064e\u0644\u064e\u062f\u064e \u00a0\u0627\u0670\u0645\u0650\u0646\u064b\u0627<\/p>\n<p><em>O my Lord! Make this town (of Makkah Mukarramah) safe<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Seeking safety and security for one\u2019s family is not incorrect. A Nabi has a comprehensive understanding of this life and the next. So his du\u2018aa will be most comprehensive as well.<\/p>\n<p>The second part of Hazrat Ebrahim (\u2018alaihis salaam)\u2019s du\u2018aa is,<\/p>\n<p dir=\"RTL\" style=\"font-family: 'traditional arabic'; font-size: 16pt; text-align: center;\">\u0648\u0651\u064e\u0627\u062c\u0652\u0646\u064f\u0628\u0652\u0646\u0650\u06cc \u0648\u064e\u0628\u064e\u0646\u0650\u06cc\u0651\u064e \u0627\u064e\u0646 \u0646\u0651\u064e\u0639\u0652\u0628\u064f\u062f\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0627\u064e\u0635\u0652\u0646\u064e\u0627\u0645\u064e<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Save me and my progeny from idolatry<\/em><\/p>\n<p>One type of idolatry is worshipping idols, but another form of idolatry is <em>\u2018kullu ma alhaaka \u2018an rabbik fa huwa sanamuk\u2019<\/em> (Whatever distracts you from Allah Ta\u2018ala is your idol). Amongst such things are our desires.<\/p>\n<p>Unquestionable authority is for Allah Ta\u2018ala alone. It cannot be given to others. However, at times, it shifts from Allah Ta\u2018ala to our family or possessions. This is that world that turns you away from your real course. It comes in the form of wealth or in the form of one\u2019s children or wife. Priorities are mixed and haraam is committed because of them. Hence, this du\u2018aa teaches us what the world is.<\/p>\n<p>The Quraan also teaches us what the world is,<\/p>\n<p dir=\"RTL\" style=\"font-family: 'traditional arabic'; font-size: 16pt; text-align: center;\">\u06a9\u064e\u0644\u0651\u064e\u0627 \u0628\u064e\u0644\u0652 \u062a\u064f\u062d\u0650\u0628\u0651\u064f\u0648\u0646\u064e \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0639\u064e\u0627\u062c\u0650\u0644\u064e\u0629<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><em>Nay, but you give preference to the worldly life<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Though the address is to the kuffaar, but when one analyses the situation, then the kuffaar have two aspects. One is their existence and person. In this there is no difference between ourselves and them. The other is their outlook and behaviour, and it is this that deprives them of the mercy of Allah Ta\u2018ala.
