Hazrat Nu\u2019maan bin Basheer (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) relates that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) would recite Surah A\u2019ala and Surah Ghaashiyah in both the Eid Salaah as well as the Jumu\u2019ah Salaah.<\/em><\/p>\n

2. Remain seated after the Eid Salaah and listen to the khutbah. Remaining seated and listening to the khutbah is an emphasised sunnah.[1]<\/sup><\/p>\n

3. During the khutbah, it is waajib for one to remain silent and listen attentively to the khutbah.[2]<\/sup><\/p>\n

4. It is forbidden to perform any nafl salaah in the Eidgah, both before and after the Eid Salaah.[3]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Hazrat Ibnu Abbaas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) would come to the Eidgah and perform the Eid Salaah. He would neither perform any nafl salaah before the Eid Salaah nor after the Eid Salaah (i.e. at the Eidgah).<\/em><\/p>\n

5. By staying awake and engaging in ibaadah on the night of Eid, one will be rewarded in this manner that when all the hearts die, his heart will remain alive.[4]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Umaamah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThe one who stands up in salaah on the two nights of Eid with the hope of receiving reward from Allah Ta\u2018ala, his heart will remain alive on the day when all the hearts will die. (\u201cThe day the hearts will die\u201d refers to the times of fitnah and fasaad when peoples\u2019 hearts will be negligent of Allah Ta\u2018ala. In such times, Allah Ta\u2018ala will keep his heart alive in His remembrance.)\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
