Hazrat Abu Zar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThe good deeds and evil deeds of my Ummah were presented before me. I found that among the good deeds is for one to remove a harmful object from the pathway, and I found that among the evil deeds is (for one to leave) the dirt of one\u2019s nose (which had fallen to the floor) in the musjid without burying it.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Hazrat Anas (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said,\u00a0\u201cTo spit in the musjid is a sin, and its compensation is to bury it (with sand).\u201d (This was at the time when the salaah in the musjid used to be performed on the bare ground.)<\/em><\/p>\n

2. Do not distribute parcels, hampers and other goods in the musjid. Similarly, do not make the musjid a drop off point for collecting parcels.[2]<\/sup><\/p>\n

3. Remain calm and dignified while in the musjid and do not be unmindful of the sanctity of the musjid. Some people, whilst waiting for the salaah to commence, fidget with their clothing or play with their cell phones. This is against the honour and respect of the musjid.[3]<\/sup><\/p>\n

4. Assist in keeping the musjid clean and tidy.[4]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Sa\u2019eed Khudri (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) \u00a0reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cWhoever removes some dirt from the musjid, Allah Ta\u2018ala will build for him a magnificent palace in Jannah.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

5. Do not bring into the musjid infants, insane people or children who are underage and do not know the aadaab (etiquettes) of the musjid.[6]<\/sup><\/p>\n
