2. Remove any foul odour from your body, clothing or mouth before entering the musjid e.g. after eating onions or something with a foul odour, standing near a fire, etc.[3]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Hazrat Jaabir (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cThe one who eats from this foul-smelling tree (garlic or onions) should not come close to our musjid, for the malaa\u2019ikah (angels) are inconvenienced through the bad odour of those things through which humans are inconvenienced.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

3. Apply itr before coming to the musjid if you are able to.[4]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Sa\u2019eed Khudri (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cEvery baaligh person should perform ghusl on the Day of Jumuah, make miswaak and apply any itr that he is able to.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

4. Proceed to the musjid calmly and in a dignified manner. Do not come to the musjid running.[5]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) once mentioned, \u201cI heard Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) say, \u2018When the iqaamah is called out for salaah, then do not proceed towards the salaah whilst you are running. Rather, come walking with calmness and tranquillity. Whatever portion of the salaah you obtain with the imaam, then perform it; and whatever portion you missed, then complete it (after the imaam completes the salaah).\u2019\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

5. It is better for one to be in the state of wudhu when entering the musjid.[6]<\/sup><\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Hurairah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports that Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) said, \u201cAs long as one remains on his musalla awaiting salaah, he receives the reward of one who is in salaah. The malaa\u2019ikah (angels) continue to make dua for him saying, \u2018O Allah Ta\u2018ala, forgive him! O Allah Ta\u2018ala, have mercy on him!\u2019 He continues receiving reward until he leaves the musjid or hadath occurs while he is in the musjid.\u201d A Sahaabi (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) asked, \u201cHow does hadath occur?\u201d Hazrat Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cThrough passing wind (breaking his wudhu).\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
