Hazrat Ka\u2019b bin Ujrah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports the following: On one occasion, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) called out to the Sahaabah (radhiyallahu \u2018anhum), \u201cCome to the mimbar.\u201d When we assembled around the mimbar, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) ascended the first step and said, \u201cAameen.\u201d He then ascended the second step and said, \u201cAameen.\u201d Then, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) ascended the third step and said, \u201cAameen.\u201d After delivering the khutbah, when Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) descended from the mimbar, we asked, \u201cO Rasul of Allah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam)! We heard you say something today that we did not hear you say before (i.e. saying aameen thrice while ascending the mimbar).\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201c(When I ascended the first step,) Jibreel (\u2018alaihis\u00a0salaam) appeared before me and said, \u2018Woe to him who witnessed the blessed month of Ramadhaan, yet he let it pass without gaining forgiveness (i.e. he did not fulfill the rights of this month).\u2019 I said aameen to this dua. When I ascended the second step, he said, \u2018Woe to him before whom your name is mentioned, yet he does not send Durood upon you.\u2019 I said aameen to this dua. When I ascended the third step, he said, \u201cWoe to him in whose presence both of his parents or one of them attain old age, yet (due to not serving them,) they do not become the means for him to enter Jannah. I said aameen to this dua.\u201d<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The Experience of Shaikh Abul Khair Aqta\u2019 (rahimahullah)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Shaikh Abul Khair Aqta\u2019 (rahimahullah) says:<\/p>\n

When I came to Madinah Tayyibah and had spent five days there, I experienced poverty and difficulty. I therefore went to the mubaarak grave of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) and greeted him, and also to the graves of Abu Bakr and Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhuma). I then said to Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), \u201cO Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), today I want to be your guest.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thereafter, I left that spot and went to sleep behind the mimbar. In a dream, I had seen Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) with Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) on his right, and Umar (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) on his left, and Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) in front of him. Ali (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) came to me and said, \u201cRise up, Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) has come.\u201d I hastily rose from my resting place and kissed Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) between his eyes. He gave me some bread, from which I ate one half and kept the other half. When I awoke from the dream, the other half of the bread was still in my hand. (Al-Qowlul Badee\u2019 Pg. 338)<\/p>\n
