Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka\u2019b (radhiyallahu \u2018anhu) reports: I once asked Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), \u201cO Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), I wish to increase my Durood upon you, so from the time I allocate for dua, how much should I reserve for sending Durood upon you?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cAs much as you desire.\u201d I asked, \u201cOne quarter (i.e. one quarter of the time)?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cIf you so wish, and if you increase it, it will be better for you.\u201d I then asked, \u201cOne half?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cAs much as you desire, and if you increase it, it will be better for you.\u201d I then asked, \u201cTwo thirds?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cIf you so wish, and if you increase it, it will be better for you.\u201d I finally said, \u201cO Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), in that case, I resolve to devote all the time I have allocated for dua to convey Durood upon you.\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) mentioned, \u201cAllah Ta\u2018ala will make it a means of relieving you from all your worries (and problems), and a means of atonement for your sins.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Writing Durood in a Unique Form<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hazrat Abu Ali, Hasan bin Ali Al-attaar (rahimahullah), says:<\/p>\n

Abu Taahir (rahimahullah) once gave me a few scripts of Ahaadith. I saw therein that whenever the name of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) was mentioned, Salaat was written in these words:<\/p>\n

I then asked Abu Taahir, \u201cWhy do you write Durood upon Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) in this manner?\u201d<\/p>\n

He replied:<\/p>\n

In my youth, I used to write Ahaadith and I did not write Salaat with the name of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam). I then saw Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) in a dream and greeted him, but Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) turned his blessed face away from me. I then came to him from the other side and again greeted him, but once again he turned his blessed face away from me. Once again, for the third time, I approached him from the front and enquired, \u201cO Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), why do you turn your blessed face away from me?\u201d Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam) replied, \u201cThe reason is that whenever you write my name in your kitaab, you do not offer Salaat upon me.\u201d Since that time, it has become my habit that whenever I write the name of Rasulullah (sallallahu \u2018alaihi wasallam), I also write:<\/p>\n
